ProfileUnity v5.6 became available last week with new features to get your users on-boarded to your desktop platform of choice easier than ever!
We’ve now included popular desktop transformation configuration templates in our Guided Configuration wizard that sets up ProfileUnity optimally for any organization from day one.
Point and Click Configuration Templates include the following scenarios and more:
¢ Windows XP Migration to Windows 7, Persistent VDI, Non-Persistent VDI, or Physical
¢ Windows XP & Windows 7 co-existence among same users
¢ Windows 7, New Non-Persistent VDI Deployment
¢ Windows 7, Migration from VMware View Personal Manager to ProfileUnity
¢ Windows 7, Migration from Citrix UPM to ProfileUnity
¢ Windows 7, Migration from a competing persona management tool to ProfileUnity
When you first get started with ProfileUnity or when you create a new configuration, now you’ll have a choice that will quickly get you started with your desktop transformation. A picture is worth a thousand blogging words, take a look:
Other notable updates include configuration and context aware filter import and export. Enterprises, consultants, and integrators will love these new capabilities because they allow you to import and export your own best practice configurations and filters so you can reuse them at other sites. The new capabilities will make troubleshooting easier for our System Engineers and Support Team as well.
Additionally, this release includes a file server Printer Auto-Discovery feature. Simply enter the path of your file server and assigning printers become as easy as clicking boxes! This was a much desired feature and one that organizations of all sizes will welcome. You can download and try ProfileUnity right now. If you are already a customer you can update your ProfileUnity Management Console by going to the Administration Tab and clicking on Update. If you are on an older version that does not have an Admin tab, consult documentation on our web site for upgrade steps.
I spent some time giving the readers of DABCC a video overview last week. Take a look for the more detail of what’s new in ProfileUnity v5.6!
